Executive Management

Aaron Newman

Aaron C. Newman is the Founder and President of Techrigy, Inc. (www.techrigy.com). Newman is responsible for leading the organization and defining the company's overall vision. Newman also manages Techrigy's day-to-day software development.

Newman is a serial entrepreneur having previously founded two successful startups, DbSecure and Application Security, Inc. Over the past decade, Newman has been widely regarded as one of the world's leading database security experts. Newman is the co-author of the Oracle Security Handbook, printed by Oracle Press, and has delivered numerous presentations on the topic of application security to organizations around the world. Aaron has also authored several patents-pending in database security.

At Application Security, Inc. (www.appsecinc.com), Newman continues to serve as CTO and provides strategic direction for the company. Over the past five years, Newman has built a best-in-breed management team and has grown AppSecInc to more than 600 enterprise customers and 100 employees.

Prior to AppSecInc, Newman founded DbSecure, Inc. where he played the role of both CEO and CTO. He led the acquisition of DbSecure by the publicly-traded company Internet Security Systems (ISSX) in 1998. After this acquisition, Newman managed the development of database security solutions at ISS.

Newman has held several other technology positions as an IT consultant with Price Waterhouse, as a developer for Bankers Trust, and as an independent IT consultant.

Newman proudly served in the U.S. Army during the First Gulf War.

 

Jay Mari

Jay Mari is co-founder and Director of Software Engineering at Techrigy, Inc. In this role, Mari manages Techrigy's software research and development. Jay is a veteran software developer and entrepreneur having been the first employee at his last startup, Application Security, Inc.

At Application Security, Inc. (www.appsecinc.com), Mari was the lead developer and architect for two of the company;s products, AppDetective and DbEncrypt, which are currently used by more than 600 enterprise customers. As well, Jay co-authored a patent on technology related to database encryption.

Prior to AppSecInc, Mari spent the previous decade leading software development teams in a wide variety of positions in the aerospace and financial industries.

Mari studied computer science at SUNY Binghamton where he specialized in Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms


Board of Directors

John Colton

John Colton is currently the Vice President of Engineering for Application Security, Inc. (www.appsecinc.com) and is responsible for leading all of the product development efforts of Application Security, Inc.'s suite of database security products.

Before Application Security, Colton served as Senior Vice President at Micromuse, a provider of business and service assurance software solutions to organizations worldwide. At Micromuse, he assumed global responsibility for software development of the company's primary and supporting product offerings. Colton scaled a geographically distributed development team to meet the demands of an organization doubling annual revenues.

Prior to his tenure at Micromuse, Colton was a founding member of VisualScape, a desktop videoconferencing company, where he designed and built several network control products and helped support sales in key vertical markets. Colton began his career at Cap Gemini America where he was responsible for developing network management products for AT&T Network Systems and other high profile clients.

Colton received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

 

Debora K. LaBudde

Ms. LaBudde has more than 10 years of investment banking, venture development and management experience in the life science and technology sectors.

Most recently, Ms. LaBudde was Vice President and General Manager for a Boston based consulting and outsourced management firm. In her position, Ms. LaBudde provided a variety of business solutions to early stage high technology companies including business and go to market strategies, management team recruitment, business plan development, strategic partnering and financing strategies.

Earlier in her career, Ms. LaBudde was Director of Business Development for Bausch & Lomb, Inc. At Bausch & Lomb, she was involved in more than a dozen successful M&A and licensing transactions representing more than $1.5 billion of aggregate value for the company over a three year period. Ms. LaBudde was responsible for buy and sell side inquiry, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring and contract negotiation.

Ms. LaBudde left Bausch & Lomb, Inc. as a founder and head of business development for a venture capital backed technology solutions company. The company was spun off from Bausch & Lomb, Inc. with a $50 million capital commitment from financial and strategic investors.

Ms. LaBudde holds a Masters in Business Administration from the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rochester. She was a 2006 finalist in the Kauffman Fellowship Program for emerging leaders in venture capital.
